while i was trying to map every thrift store between my house and st george, utah i decided there might be more interesting parts of earth to see than shops. I'm starting to wish i majored in geology instead of whatever my major really is. i watched up in the air tonight and now my google map exploration informed me where some of those crazy crop circle grids are in the opening credits(for the record this movie is good but very scary about the job market and marriage market).
we're driving to utah the 26th or 27th. i hope we stop in vegas so i can play one slot machine since i've never before. if we don't that's okay too. anyway i want to blog more in the new year, so this is just hi again.

I want to go here too, copper city and apollo mountain or whatever this is.

summer camp syndrome blog

So it's later than I said, but here it is.. blog of camping!

We set off on a hangover sunday morning.

Stopped for sustainable soy chorizo breakfast burritos at hugo's by the 101

we drove for ever and then stopped in Bishop, California where there are a lot of cowboy supply stores

Got iced coffees and took a dip in this motel's pool.

I decided I would really like to do a carpool tour of california(then maybe america) where we get a car pool of people and go swimming in the pools town to town.. it might sound stupid but it gets hot in the summer driving and i think swimming pools are one of our most underappreciated novelties in america. . . . so if you'd like to come email me and you can drive.

we had drinks at this place over here.. I foolishly got a pomagranate martini and erin got the best bloody mary my lips have ever touched. oh and the drinking age in bridgeport was 13 so we were totally cool.

I like the sky in these pictures, it rained that night and the next.. and we were sleeping out side drunk so it was kind of slippery and kind of cool. when it was clear there were a million shooting stars. i made enough wishes for the year.

we got kind of good after a while, but then we let the grown ups play. this guy down here was astronomical.. you have never seen pool played like he could play it was nuts. all balls, in ONE turn.

the next day we hiked down to buckeye river and bathed in the hot springs.

hot/cold/hot/cold. . i had trouble adjusting.... to the naked people not the water.

drove down to town after that to jolly cone for ice cream and i got a sandwich.. was this the day we got the really good soup for breakfast? I think so.. prize winning tomato soup on main street.

after the hot springs and lunch we went back to the lake. it was windy so we only drank a bit before trekking back to camp for snacks.

that last picture has some wind mills in the background, it was prettier irl. the last stop was mojave where i DROVE ON THE FREEWAY from.. for like 30 minutes. I had a panic attack because i don't drive on the freeway you know? so erin took over. but for a few minutes i thought omg big things ARE happening. but then they stopped.

I'm back from the boondocks with hella pictures and blog material! first here are some pictures of nick's pool party extravaganza: There was this adorable puppy....... and there was beer. and BEER PONG. I played two very close games. the first we nearly won, but some bounce technicality let them win.. or i don't know. a rematch later was forfeited due to the sun going down.

after the party we went home. i woke up too early(9) and went to a job interview at cpk.  OH and i broke my phone at chelseas.. apparently razrs aren't beer resistant??! who knew. so yeah i had a job interview and i havent heard back but my phone has also been completely out of commission.. i should call in probably. oh well whatever.. maybe i willl.
then at like noon erin picked me up and we left for the mountains.

kind of over blogging

hi I have some good news: my camera parts came and now i have a personally refurbished camera! also i found a monitor to plug my laptop into so now i can once again blog from the comfort of my bedroom. In bad news, I have NO photo documentation of the recent past, but i will make up for that in my forthcoming posts
So where did i leave off? Uhh the monday before LAST. jeeeez, hmmmmm....
I don't think I did anything important til friday. Summer school ended ... then i went on a bike ride and then i went shopping and coffee drinking with isabel and eloise. later on chrissy and i met melody and quinn and went to tagore's birthday party at temporary spaces. it was fun, everybody who was anybody was there. and everybody who wasn't anybody was there too. they seriously let ANYONE in. at the end we ate tamales and went to the after party in pismo beach or the palisades.. yeah the palisades. we stayed at this strange house until so early in the morning. it was weird and awkward for the bitch whose house it was I think.
Saturday i slept the whole day away and then went to the beach boys concert(well mike love, bruce johnston, and uncle jesse/john stamos)

anyway I didnt make it back to the real world/from alhambra until too late to go to rumspringa so some guy came over instead and we played scrabble and watched 10 things I hate about you.
sunday was the rumspringa show at the american apparel sale after party in some warehouse downtown. it was fun enough. here's a youtube of them too for your viewing pleasure. ACTUALLY scratch that, here's a cultural lesson for you all about the life of an amish:

anyway oops i forgot something sunday was mom's birthday!! so we took her on a hike and bbq'd

on monday i went to paradise cove in the daytime and jayne's birthday party at talia's house in the nighttime. we went swimming and drank too much whiskey, actually.. maybe only i did. tuesday? recovery. and i got two new floral coolotte(??) rompers. wednesday? I had a job interview for the red bull wiiingsteam. I don't think I'll get that job, it didn't go well. maddy interviewed also, i think she's going to get hired, but don't worry i'm not bitter. i took the 761 to westwood and met nick and chrissy.. we went to don antonio's to meet andrew and his posse... then i opted out of their party for a private booth with erin charlotte maddy and shelea. we drank a pitcher of margaritas and dollar tacos and it was a very fine dining experience, in my opinion. pictures coming soon of that.
afterwards we all went to andrews and drank wine. then to some highrise apartment building to meet up with samantha and carolyn and turns out all of the rest of santa monica's alumni. suki, your brush with death was the main topic of everyone's conversation. what next? oh nathaniel cody and andrew g came by and things got awkward because i am a mole. we tried to find the roof. failed. then all the people that mattered went back to erin's for the first annual summer ball. um we huuuung out then me and erin watched part of deadringers and fell asleep.
it is a weird movie i hope to see the rest of it one day. the first scene was on youtube:

Mmmm then i woke up today.. drank iced coffee. went to eat really good indian food on venice. drove around culver city and then went to erin's dentist appointment.. read magazine's in the waiting room. that was the most time i've spent in a dentist's office this millenium. which is terrrrrrrrrible i know. then we went to the grove and then i went home on the subway. i watched stupid tv all night and now i'm going to bed!
this weekend should be fun. and if not on sunday i leave for camping in twin lakes? or i forget where. i'm excited. there will be a good follow up post after that i assume.
anyway one last shout out to maya, happy birthday! do you even read this??

bad news! my lap top broke. and my camera is still broken, here's a picture of my trying to blog anyway though! thanks galina!
My dad sent away for replacement parts to my canon so hopefully I can blog more effectively very soon. Anyway last weekend.. Friday me, eloise, and quinn went to danny's birthday. El and I played beer pong and took home this trophy:

On saturday I went to that glow festival at the pier.. no good pictures, maybe later? oh and i had lunch with my aunt at micellis.. very good mushrooms!

Anyway today was the last day of summer school and i've basically just been doing all the work i didn't do all week .. now that it's over here is a list of things i want to do:

what do i say what do i say

whats up are you ready for this? here's what my summer like, i'll make it as chronological as possible! This week on monday I tried to go to the room on cahuenga, but for some reason the door man was being an especially big tool this week and rejected me and eloise. So we grabbed chrissy and annette and went to the red lion and cha cha lounge instead. it was my first time(s) there and they were nice. some gentlemen bought us stagen optimators(?), then we met back up with el and chris and played in the photo booth.. In the end of the night that wasn't very long at all I ate 1.5 vegetarian burritos from burrito king. pictures below

the next day i went to school in the day time and at night quinn took me and eloise to the mandrake.. it was kind of dead this week. Caitlin Pugh came though, cayal for a minute, and alex blum for another minute, oh and ben nyberg! despite the deadness we still managed to close the place up.. again. Afterwards, we collected ourselves and went over to chrissy's. Daniel drove us home very late and ran out of gas on the 405. It was almost really bad i think. No pictures this week, but here we are there last week:

What else do I have pictures to post things about? On friday Charlotte and erin picked me up after a big fight with my parents and we went to the Getty for Dan Deacon.. We got there too late, but saw a lot of people and some DJ was still playing records. Hi shout out to stacey enoch and luke silasEverything got frantic about where to go next, we ended up at willa's. Erin and i made delicious sangrias which got us through the first half of the night but before midnight we stumbled over to 7 11 for free slurpees to spike.
We ended up in the valley and drank a lot of go girl until sunrise at nathaniel's, we went swimming at like 5. it's a weird summer but these nights are the better ones. finally we dried off and spike took us to donuts and then home.. erin had a flight at 9 am or something absurd. she sooomehow made it??

The next day/after that morning I woke up at 4, watched walk the line on tv, quinn came over at night and we went to that ridiculous beverly hills party. A lot of people from high school and sbcc were there. it was fun? charlotte fairfax samantha max cody nathaniel travis gosh a lot of people ended up coming. but THEN the cops came. they put on a comedy show before kicking everyone out. most of the people i liked there went back to chrissys/my new house. . .. the night went away after a while and i went to sleep.

sunday we went to the beach with andrew. we started walking to paradise cove but the tide was getting too high. we hung out in the ocean for a little bit and then went home. that night quinn came over, we played scrabble until he got childish and ruined it all. I watched a lot of entourage and went to bed. now we're back to monday. which is where i started.
the weekend's tomorrow.. there are a lot of parties, but also a potential ride to santa cruz? do i pounce? or just not go because there's only one more week of summer school so i might as well just wait until the end right?

right probably.
